Tornado Hits Kwazulu-Natal South Africa

New Hanover and Greytown, north of Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa was hit by a tornado on Tuesday 12 November 2019. The department said a lot of people have been injured and homes and buildings damaged. The tornado might have come and gone but heavy thunderstorms and possible floods have been predicted for the next week.

Lots of videos and images of the violent storm was shared on social media, with some people saying that it hit Eskom's electricity substation in the area. Motorists have been warned not to use the R33 between Pietermaritzburg and the New Hanover because of the trees and rubble on the road.
